Thanksgiving Feast
Nathan's school had a Thanksgiving Feast today. All the classes gathered in the large room to feast together. Each child was assigned a food item to bring to the feast. Nathan brought popcorn. He must have eaten a lot of food at the feast because he didn't eat any dinner.

Spirit Day
Today is Spirit Day at school. Nathan was asking me what spirit is and I told him that it's a way to show how much you love your school. After that, he was really excited to go to school. He was so excited about spirt day, he wouldn't sit still for a photo. So, they are all a little out of focus.

Nathan wanted me in the photo with my school shirt on also. This is the best I could do.

Inside the Cabin
We enjoyed this cabin very much. We just wished it wasn't so far away from everything else. Notice that there are no blinds on any of the windows. It was a little spooky at night.

Kitchen

Dining Area

Downstairs bedroom with two twin beds.

Living Room

Upstairs bedroom with queen bed.

Master Bedroom with king bed.

All packed up and ready to head back to Texas. Nathan is all smiles. He is ready to go to his Texas house.

"We are going to be in the car for how long?"

Hiking and Mirror Lake
Everything in Mountain View is closed on Sunday's except of course the Walmart, so we headed back to Blanchard Springs to go hiking and visit Mirror Lake.

The only shot of Nathan hiking because he was carried the rest of the way.

Nathan and Mommy resting along the hike.

The trees have no leaves.

All the leaves are all over the trail.

Mommy carrying Nathan through the forest.

The dam at Mirror Lake.

Mirror Lake

This wooden walkway runs along Mirror Lake and the springs. See Nathan way far off in the distance. He loved running up and down the walkway.

The Mill on the springs.

Mini Waterfall

Nathan screaming at the dam. Trying to be as loud as the rushing water.

Nathan happy to be back in the cabin.

What a Drive!
The drive out to our cabin is unreal. I knew it was a secluded cabin but I didn't realize how secluded it really was. We decided to take some photos of the drive out to the cabin or you won't believe us. Now, remember that we arrived Thursday night around 10PM. It was pitch black outside and we could only see a couple of feet in front of us from the headlights. Most of the time we felt we were on a private drive and would end up at someone else's house. Thankfully with only a couple of wrong turns, we finally arrived at our cabin.

This is the paved road that you turn on from the highway.

Now it turns into a gravel road and we were told to go to the right of the big wooden mailbox.

This part of the road looks like someone's driveway.

The fallen leaves pretty much cover the road at this point.

This part of the road always had water on it. Randy named this section "The Soggy Bottom".

This is an old barn structure that we pass along the way.

This is the part of the road that looks like a dried up creek bed to me.

"Is this even a road?"

Another old barn.

Old cabin.

Now we are on our "street" and it's a much smoother ride. There are six cabins on the right and in the middle of the photo at the end of the street is our cabin.

After leaving the highway 25 minutes ago, we finally arrive at our cabin.

The ride was so long, it put Nathan to sleep.

We didn't realize the White River was right in our backyard when we arrived Thursday night. We couldn't see it because it was so dark.

We also couldn't see this giant mountain right behind the river.
