Brushing Teeth

We have started brushing Nathan's six teeth. I bought him a little blue toothbrush and baby toothpaste with no flouride. To my surprise, he has done a great job. He opens his mouth wide and lets me brush them. Then, I give him the toothbrush and let him try. He just chomps on the brush, but he will get it down eventually.

New Carseat

Nathan has outgrown his infant carseat in length. We went out today and purchased him a new one that he will be able to use over the next few years. We will keep him rear facing in the new carseat until he passes the 20 pound mark.

1 Year Check Up

Nathan visited his doctor today for his one year check up. He weighs 19 pounds and is in the 5th percentile. He is 29 1/4 inches tall, which puts him in the 50th percentile. His doctor feels that he has done all the catching up that he will do on weight and height. With that said, he will still remain on formula until his next appointment in November. We were told to start moving him to table food and be off of baby food by his next appointment. Nathan received three immunizations today, including his chicken pox and measles. Those shots are making him a very grumpy and crabby baby today. Mommy and Daddy are taking turns holding him and calming him down.

HAPPY 1ST BIRTHDAY, NATHAN!!!!

To celebrate Nathan's birthday, we went to the Dallas World Aquarium. It's a South American rainforest filled with rare plants and animals. The bamboo paths lead you past monkeys, giant river otters, many species of toucans and crocodiles. They have a river exhibit that allows you to look underwater at the manatees and huge turtles. There's a 22,000 gallon walk-through tunnel of stingrays and sharks. They also have snakes, jaguars, sea turtles, owls, eagles and bats. We all had a great time. Nathan loved the animals. His favorite were the huge turtles.

While we were looking at the monkeys on Monkey Island, Mommy's watch started beeping.

One year ago today at this very moment, Nathan was born.

Our family grew to three.
Nathan, we are so blessed to have you in our lives!

Nathan's First Birthday Party

We celebrated Nathan's first birthday today with a family party at our house. Nathan's cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents all came for the special occasion. We grilled hamburgers for lunch. Then, we started the party with cake and ice cream. After we cleaned Nathan up, he opened his presents with help from his cousins. Finally, we swam in the pool until it started to thunder.

Nathan had a Tonka truck party. Randy decorated the cake.

Yum, cake!

Messy hands!

That was so good! Can I have some more?

No? . . . Then, I'm going to lick my plate clean!

My Playroom

Mommy and Daddy gave up their sitting room so I can have a playroom. We are working on decorating it, but I'm already having fun in it.
